Newtown Gave Me My Voice
A young creator finds her confidence on these open streets — one shoot, one café, one pujo at a time.

When I first started exploring Newtown, I saw a city that was still growing — modern roads, open skies, cafés filled with conversations, and people carrying dreams in every direction. Over time, this place became much more than just a part of Kolkata for me. It became a space where I discovered my creativity, confidence, and sense of belonging.
As someone involved in social media, branding, storytelling, fashion, and creative collaborations, Newtown gave me opportunities to meet inspiring people, work on exciting projects, attend events, and build meaningful connections. From café meetings and fashion shoots to community gatherings and content creation, many of my important memories were created here.
One of the most special moments in this journey was getting the opportunity to be part of the team of Newtown Sarbojonin Pujo this year as a volunteer. Being involved in something so deeply connected to the community made me feel even closer to the spirit of Newtown. It wasn’t just about organizing an event — it was about celebrating culture, people, and togetherness. That experience inspired me even more, and I now dream of contributing to the branding and creative identity of the pujo in the future.
What makes Newtown special is its energy. It feels young, ambitious, and welcoming. Every corner has a story — artists building brands, entrepreneurs chasing ideas, creators finding their voice, and friendships turning into family.
Today, when I think of Newtown, I don’t just think of buildings or streets. I think of growth, passion, memories, and the journey of becoming who I am. In many ways, Newtown didn’t just become my city — it became a part of my identity. ❤️
